Live Blogging @ Opera Cleveland

Calling all Cleveland area bloggers. You and a guest are invited to blog - live - at the final dress rehearsal of Falstaff on June 17th, from 6:15pm until the final curtain. This is a great opportunity to blog and tweet about one of Cleveland’s great cultural assets from “behind the scenes.” Kudos to Opera Cleveland for creating this awesome event and here’s to hoping other cultural institutions begin this really cool initiative.

Make this experience yours! It is a wonderful opportunity to wander through the theatre and backstage - while a performance is in progress - and to share your unique view through your blog or Twitter account.

Listen, you do not have to be an opera aficionado to join this event. It is simply a way for Opera Cleveland to make opera more accessible through social media. And I for one thinks this is one of the coolest things ever. Let’s get a ton of bloggers and Twitter afficionados in attendance.

To RSVP or for more information, please contact Lisa Hofmann at hofmann@operacleveland.org or at 216.575.0903.

Opera and Tech - A New Scene

Hey everyone – this is a great invite to a very unique opportunity for the tech and creative industries to participate in a special rehearsal of Hansel & Gretel sponsored by Opera Cleveland. My good friend Sarah Stilgenbauer (if there was ever an opera name she has it) has 50 VIP passes set aside for those who work in the technology and creative industries in Cleveland to attend this special dress rehearsal on October 27th @ 7pm. The first 50 who RSVP get in! THE EVENT IS FREE PEOPLE!

To participate contact Sarah Stilgenbauer @ 216.575.0903, extension 263 or at stilgenbauer@operacleveland.org.

As Sarah said to me, “Vote for free beer and opera.” Indeed. Also any major opera that has a chicken as a spokesperson – Carl, the Opera Chicken is okay with me. (http://www.operachicken.blogspot.com/) I hope you will join us for this event. Make it happen, Cleveland.
